GIT490: Food Photography
Assignment Prompt:
"This project consists of 2 photographs (and a photograph of each set – you can take with your phone). In Studio (bring props), Please collect multiple food items and design a photograph that you will take looking straight down at the items. Shoot on location, This shot involves depth of field. Please take a photo of a small tableau such as a cup of fruit or a slice of cake ( can be straight on, not top-down) and come in as close as you can with a large aperture to produce a soft-focus background."
Savory Sushi- Kymber Miller
The objective of this project was to create appetizing food photographs. I picked Sushi for the studio flat-lay portion because I wanted to create a colorfully contrasted meal with earthy accents to create a refreshing presentation. The sushi is real, and the only Photoshop work done was to remove the scratches from within the black plexiglass background.

Alls the Cocktails- Kymber Miller
I picked cocktails for the at-home photoshoot, which focused on depth of field because the idea came to mind quickly. After all, my sister makes cocktails all the time. What's fun about this photograph is the glasses are being lit underneath by an LED strip light used to decorate bedrooms! The most challenging part was deciding whether or not to incorporate more garnishing on the glasses, but I was worried it would mess with the composition too much. Set up shot was taken by my sister and features my mom helping me out :)
